Ruth Barreiro has a Bachelor of Architecture from Drexel University and a NJ Teaching Certificate in Technology Education. Ruth teaches Computer Aided Drafting and Robotics at Clearview Regional High School in Mullica Hill, NJ, and she also coaches Clearview's FIRST Tech Challenge Robotics Team and volunteers as advisor for Unicef Club. Ruth has served on the READI Committee, a collaborative effort with Rutgers University to evaluate data and implement an action plan to bring equity into Career and Technical Education Programs. With a heart for service, Ruth is passionate about connecting with youth in Cumberland County and providing them with STEAM related experiences. 

Dr. Gregory Biren is an Associate professor in the Department of Health and Exercise Science at Rowan University and serves as an executive board member for Make & Move Club. He is certified as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, and a Corrective Exercise Specialist. Dr. Biren is a firm believer that anyone can achieve any goal, if they are willing to sacrifice and put forth the required effort. This includes achieving ones health and fitness goals.  His mission is to serve as an educator, motivator, and resource for helping individuals learn how to attain higher levels of health through exercise, nutrition, and lifestyle modification.

Jill McClennen has degrees from both Johnson and Wales University and The Culinary Institute of America.  Former owner of The Sweet Life Bakery in Vineland, NJ, she now teaches a baking and pastry job training course to adult students at Cathedral Kitchen, a non-profit in Camden, NJ.  A lifelong fitness enthusiast, Jill has practiced and taught yoga since 2001, so she understands the need to keep moving to stay healthy.  In addition to staying active and moving, she is passionate about healthy eating and nutrition.  And finally as the mother of two young kids, Jill is excited to share her enthusiasm for education and exercise and is excited to provide leadership in these efforts to the youth of Cumberland County.

Jeanna Sciarrotta

Secretary 

Jeanna Sciarrotta has her BA in Secondary Education; English from The College of New Jersey and a MA in Reading from St. Thomas University.  She has been teaching English at the high school level for the past fourteen years.  During her time as a teacher, she has spent countless hours working with her students outside of class to provide a place that they can come to complete homework and get help both during the school day and in the afternoon. She is well-versed in young adult fiction and believes that the characters in books have the power to provide comfort for so many adolescents that feel that they are alone in the world or that no one has gone through what they have.  Jeanna has a strong passion for working with underprivileged youth and believes that everyone can succeed  when provided with positive role models and support.

Matthew Mingin

Matthew Mingin has a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education/MST from The College of New Jersey. Matthew teaches middle school math at Port Norris Middle School in Port Norris, New Jersey. Matthew is the 21st Century Community Learning Center Coordinator at Port Norris Middle School. Matthew's belief is to show students that they can achieve more in life with an open mind and an eagerness to learn. 

Joshua Barreiro

Executive Director

Joshua Barreiro has a Bachelor of Science from Temple University with a concentration in Exercise & Sport Science and is currently a graduate student at West Chester University in the Exercise Physiology program. Josh is also a freelance writer who has been featured in Huffington Post & STACK and serves as an Advisory Board member for the NSCA Mid-Atlantic Region. He has presented at multiple conferences on youth sports, free play, and other topics. He has over two years experience working with youth in various settings.  Josh believes that playing is an integral part of the learning process, and that it is imperative that children are given the opportunity to exercise their creativity through play.

Luis Torres

Senior Program Assistant

Luis Torres has an Associate Degree in Secondary Education, and he is currently pursuing Bachelor of Education at Rowan University.  Luis serves as Senior Level Program Assistant for Make & Move Club.  He is a certified substitute teacher and has over 2 years experience working with youth in an after school and summer program setting.  He has also facilitated programming in at-risk schools in the Cumberland County area. Luis has a strong passion for science that is only surpassed by his love of mathematics which he refers to as the language of science.
